Charmouth Challenge - 4th July |
|
Kamping with Kanga presents....
Charmouth Camping Weekend
3rd-5th July 2009
|
|
As most of you are aware, SH3 are returning to the Golden Cap
Holiday Park, Chideock, Seatown (not Seaton!) for lots of camping fun
and the SH3 hashers’ favourite event, the ‘Charmouth Challenge’, on the
4th July!
For those of you who don’t know, the campsite is surrounded by 2000
acres of the National Trust Golden Cap Estate and is only 150 metres
from the beach and, more importantly, the Anchor Inn!
Please call 01308 426947 between 8.30-6.00pm (Mon-Sun) to book your own
pitch. You can say that you are with Stannary Hash House Harriers for
reference. The campsite will require a deposit to secure the booking.
If possible, those in a 1 or 2 man tent should try to team up to share
a pitch as the pitches are quite large - this will bring down costs for
you considerably. You can also book online if you wish but make sure
you select the correct campsite (unlike Herr Splitz last year who ended
up at the completely wrong campsite!).
Unfortunately, there will be no allocated pitches, as the campsite does
not accept group bookings. Therefore, it is first come first served
with the pitches chosen on the day of arrival. We will try to pitch our
tents as close together as possible on the day.
PLEASE BOOK YOUR PLACES ASAP TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT. |
The website for the campsite is www.wdlh.co.uk and click on Golden Cap Holiday Park, if you need to look up any details.
Traditionally we usually have a BBQ or something similar on the
Friday/Saturday night; please bring your own food and drink. Make sure
you either bring your own or a disposable BBQ. The campsite does have a
shop which sells a few supplies and we usually visit the pub on the
Saturday eve and finish with lunch on Sunday before returning home.
Please let me know when you’ve booked the campsite so I’m aware of who’s coming on the trip this year.
Details for the Charmouth Challenge can be found on www.charmouth.dorset.sch.uk . For those of you mad enough to do it please book your own entry. This race is not compulsory but it helps!

On on Kanga (let’s hope the weather is better than last year’s!)
